The Fifth Month
You're already at the halfway mark. Good going. Maybe it's getting a bit harder to maintain good posture, as your belly pulls you forward. Try to keep your ears, shoulder, and hips all in straight line.
Your baby is about seven inches long, and weighs between 10 and 12 ounces. Her bones are becoming harder, and muscles are developing, too. And your baby is beginning to use them.
This is called "quickening". Your baby is starting to move. Baby's brain and nervous system are growing rapidly at this point, and her senses are starting to awaken. At about 20 weeks, you may be able to hear your baby's heartbeat through a stethoscope. Amazing!
