What is infertility?

Quite simply, infertility is any condition that affects a couple's ability to conceive or maintain a pregnancy. If you've been trying to have a child for at least a year and had no luck, you have an infertility issue. But don't despair. We know this can be a tense time for couples. It's easy to get frustrated and wonder why something so natural can be so difficult for you. But before you get too frustrated, it's helpful to know there are a lot of reasons for infertility. Some rest with the woman-like sporadic ovulation (release of an egg) or damage to the fallopian tubes. Some are a man's domain-like an abnormality in sperm function. But so many more are a combination of causes and often need careful study and intervention by a trained specialist to properly diagnose. Infertility is not insurmountable. So please.
