Fibroid Tumors
Dear Doctors: My friend just had surgery to remove fibroid tumors. She tells me it's more an inconvenience than a worry, but I can't help but be concerned. Do they ever turn cancerous?
Dr. Wesley Grootwassink: Very, very rarely. Fibroids are usually just an irritant. And the question said fibroids, plural. You'll virtually never see cancer with multiple fibroids.
