Comfortable Mammograms
Dear Doctors: I've heard about this less-invasive new procedures for giving women mammograms. When will we finally get rid of the old "squeeze box" and start using the new, more comfortable methods?
Dr. Wesley Grootwassink: Are they talking about MRI? It's a better test.
Dr. Shannon Klingman: Especially for pre-menopausal women. It's just that insurance companies don't want to pay for it.
WG: When insurance companies decide that quality of health care is more important than costs, then we'll have that test.
